15. Your favourite ALW Raoul.
I don’t think I actually have one. It is, as many people have remarked, a rather thankless role. I often base it on the chemistry with the Christine, which is rather important for Raoul! And also to what extent the Raoul presents a feasible choice for Christine, as a love interest.
I liked Hadley’s Raoul in Phantom 25. They made choices in those performances to show how the characters could evolve to the Love Never Dies characters, and I love LND, so I liked that.
I loved David Thaxton in LND (and that counts as an ALW Raoul :P)
I also liked Will Barratt when I saw him last summer with Sofia Escobar. As with Hadley’s Raoul, there was steeliness to his Raoul. This is a Raoul who is determined to protect Christine from a manipulative murderer.
